DJRen

Jason “DJRen” Renlund, began making music in 2011, originally going by JRen with the aspirations of being a rapper when he started college at CU Boulder. However, the Great EDM Awakening of 2012 and a frustration over the availability of beats and copyright issues posting remixes pushed him in a more production oriented directing. Finding a love for festival trap music, trance, and big room house, Jason began posting mixes in the fall of 2012. Inspirations for his developing sound include Adventure Club, Zedd, Gareth Emery, Dash Berlin, and Oliver Heldens. DJRen’s Mixcloud account now hosts four individual mix series. To showcase the variety in taste and skill in mixing, the Megamix series is a grab bag of styles thrown together to tell stories and convey themes without attention to genre. TRVPOUT features the best in trap, dubstep, and bass music, showing the hip hop roots of DJRen. Deep In The House focuses on deep, tropical, and tech house mixing and is the first DJRen mix to feature a guest mix, provided by Denver DJ Queen Beats. Electro Heat, the newest of the four series, spans progressive house, big room, trance, hardstyle, and anything between, featuring hits by EDM legends as well as underground bangers. With over 24 hours of posted mixes, DJRen has something to offer anyone in the EDM community and beyond.
